On March 7, a celebration was held for the newly restored Reaves Chapel in North Carolina. Built by emancipated African Americans in the 1800s, this sacred space served as a religious, social, and cultural hub for the local Gullah Geechee community. The Orton Foundation played a key role, providing crucial grants to the North Carolina Coastal Land Trust to preserve one of the oldest African American churches in southeastern North Carolina.
