$125,000 Awarded to Protect Water, Prioritize Inclusivity, and Support Jobs in New Mexico and Colorado
The Taos Ski Valley Foundation (TSVF)—an affiliate of The Moore Charitable Foundation—awarded $125,000 to The Nature Conservancy New Mexico’s Rio Grande Water Fund (RGWF) to increase the use of prescribed fire and help to ensure that Indigenous Peoples are equally represented in the program’s workforce through northern New Mexico and southern Colorado. In coordination with the Indigenous Peoples Burning Network (IPBN), this grant will support learning exchanges between tribal communities and workshops to educate non-Indigenous fire professionals on prescribed fire.
