Myriam Maalouf meets Gabrielle Sacconaghi Bacon, patron of the MPhil International Scholarship

Myriam Maalouf meets Gabrielle Sacconaghi Bacon, patron of the MPhil International Scholarship which Myriam was awarded for 2016/17. Mrs. Bacon herself is currently enrolled as a PhD student, after graduating with an MPhil in International Relations (1988).

Miriam Maalouf joins Hughes Hall, University of Cambridge from McGill University where she won the Alexander McKenzie Award for Political Science in 2015. Myriam is the second Scholar under the scheme for Canadian International Relations students, following Yuan Yi Zhu in 2015/16. Originally from Lebanon, Myriam also has experience as an intern at the Permanent Mission of Lebanon at the United Nations.

Launched in 2014, the Gabrielle Sacconaghi Bacon Scholarship in International Relations at Hughes Hall, Cambridge University (UK) empowers Canadian students of outstanding academic merit to pursue MPhil degrees in International Relations. The Scholarship aims to foster intercultural exchange across the Atlantic Ocean and to promote the increasing importance of International Relations in a global economy.
