Land Trust Alliance
In partnership with The Moore Charitable Foundation, the Land Trust Alliance has for three decades served as the primary advocacy for the land conservation community, influencing members of Congress to support tax measures and conservation funding that have significantly advanced land protection. Over 50 million acres of land have been conserved in America through this combination of land protection mechanisms and funding sources.
The Moore Charitable Foundation’s continued leadership and support has allowed the Alliance to significantly grow its national public policy program in recent years. Due to government budget deficits and a partisan divide on fiscal policy, there is a growing threat to the land conservation incentives and programs in America. With support from MCF, the Alliance is focused on building an increased, and more effective and engaged land trust community that is deeply involved in policymaking at all levels of government.
“The Moore Charitable Foundation’s support has helped empower us to expanded our policy initiatives, build effective land trusts, develop strong conservation leaders and engage people to ensure land conservation remains relevant in our communities. The Land Trust Alliance is most grateful for this generous support and for the Foundation’s continued commitment to land conservation.”
